Leveraging key IaaS providers for Global R&E benefit

Public Cloud Infrastructure Services continue to expand at an astounding pace, offering not just easily available virtual compute and storage services, but full platforms that can be leveraged by every area of the research and education community. The ability to deliver petaflops of computing cycles on for a small fraction of the capital investment needed on a local campus seems compelling but implementing frameworks that support the easy selection and consumption of a service platform AND the ability to migrate from one to another is critical to support the use of the right tool for the specific need. This session will discuss the Global Services working group effort to deploy these services demonstrated by specific researcher use cases with Azure, AWS, and Rackspace.
